Julia sent me a message saying that she wanted to talk about “Listening with Love’s Ear” for this week’s Podcast. You would have been amused by the blank stare that took hold of my face. I really had no idea how this was going to add to my propserity. But you know, I gave her a chance to explain. I kept an open mind. I remembered how generous she’s been with her time and experience for the past 18 months of Podcasts and pretty soon it all became crystal clear. There’s a tremendous power and benefit in listening with full respect, attention and consideration. And there’s equal power in speaking in the same way. In our hurry-up, impatient, news bite world, we want to get it over with and move on but the most benefit now and in the future might be to stay open and go deeper to where the real power is.

For millions of Americans, the New Year is the height of the football season with bowl and playoff games filling stadiums and TV schedules. Do you ever get worried while watching a game that maybe there will be a fumble or an interception or the other team will complete a long drive and steal the game away from the one you’re rooting for? Of course, you do. That’s the thrill of sports. The highs of victory and the lows of defeat and the challenge of the game. But in our daily lives, we should seek just the opposite. Put things on an even keel put worry and anxiety behind us and focus on the present moment. Trying to control every outcome in your life with your emotions will literally eat you up alive causing stress related illnesses. It can be as easy, as “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” and we show you how.
